These wooden carvings are being made for the main park of Khabarovsk..the same park we walk through to go to church. Notice the policeman on the right, see his baton in the right hand? Some of the traffic police stand on the side of the road. If they see you drive illegal in some way, they wave their black and white baton at you and you must pull over. We once saw them 'taking pics' (using the laser gun to catch speeders).
